The short second life of bree tanner
By Stephenie Meyer
4 star book
This book is full of lies and betrayals. It is the background story from Eclipse, and tells the story of a newborn vampire, Bree. This tale is definitely intended for fantasy lovers and most likely the age group of teenagers and young adults. Meyer wrote this because she felt she should tell more about the character of Bree from Eclipse. Also she wanted Twilight fans to see from the point of view of a newborn vampire. I think this was an amazing book. I enjoyed reading it, being a Twilight fan myself. I recommend that if you’ve already read the Twilight series that you should most definitely read this novella. This reviews purpose is to give you some insight into the book and motivate you to check it out at your local library and read it.
Meyers didn’t plan on being an author but her many fans are thankful she had a dream about a vampire and a girl and wrote about it. This review is judging this book on entertainment value.
In the beginning all Bree, the main character, knows is she needs to survive in the mad house filled with crazy newborns. This is until she meets Diego, a vampire who unlike the others seems normal. Bree and her new companion find out they were lied to about the effects of light on them and start to wonder what else Riley, their care taker, has lied about. Like Bree had expected and Diego feared there were more secrets being kept. In the end Bree risks it all for her love of Diego.
I think the book achieves its purpose of letting the readers better understand the mind of a newborn and have a look at the behind the scenes of Eclipse. It’s not written the same way as the other Twilight books because it is not written from Bella’s point of view like most of the other books are, and it is also not nearly as long. The Twilight series books differ from other books in their genre about vampires because in this series they behave differently than ordinary vamps and are not affected badly with garlic, sun, or wooden stakes.
This book will definitely leave you with a thirst for more. I recommend if you are in to fantasy that you put this book on your reading list along with the other Twilight books in the series because this book weaves the story of Bree’s quest for survival which reviles lies that their creator and care taker have been feeding her and all the other newborns. In conclusion this was a fantastic book; I only wish it could have been longer.
This book will definitely leave you with a thirst for more.
ReplyDeleteMr. Goss, Morgan should score some bonus points for the statement above. Seriously, that's classic! :)
